Rich History

Bellerieve Eden Prairie Community

Bellerieve’s land is filled with historic richness dating back to the settlers. One of Minnesota’s financial and railroad tycoons, C.T. Jaffray, lived here. Jaffray, who helped found the nearby Minikahda and Minneapolis Golf Clubs, selected this spot for his grand estate.

Chosen for its ideal location between Jaffray’s Minneapolis grain operations and his barge and rail depots on the river, the historic Bloomington Ferry’s Stage Coach Road intersected his property, its roadbed still evident today. In the early 1930s, Jaffray built an overseer’s home. Now an Eden Prairie historical site, the home has been meticulously restored and expanded by its current owners as the cornerstone of Bellerieve.
